The dentist places an artificial root (implant) in the jaw. After healing, a crown, bridge, or prosthesis is attached to this for a natural result.
An implant is an artificial root made of titanium (or in some cases zirconium) that is placed in the jawbone. After healing, the implant becomes firmly attached to the bone and forms a stable base for a crown, bridge, or prosthesis.
Implants can be used for:
• replacement of one tooth
• replacement of multiple teeth
• securing a snap-on denture
An implant can be a good solution:
• in case of loss or imminent loss of teeth
• when a bridge is not a suitable option
• with problems with a loose or uncomfortable denture
Whether implants are possible in your situation depends on the amount of jawbone and your general health.
• Fixed and stable solution
• Natural appearance and function
• Preservation of jawbone
• Long lifespan with good oral hygiene
A snap-on denture is a removable prosthesis that firmly clicks onto implants in the jaw. This offers significantly more stability and comfort than a loose-fitting denture.
Usually, a snap-on denture is attached to two or four implants, depending on the jaw and the desired firmness.
• More stability and security
• Improved chewing function
• Less pressure and irritation of the gums
• Easily removable for cleaning
The costs of an implant treatment depend on your personal situation and consist of several components. After the consultation, you will receive a clear treatment plan with an associated cost estimate.
In contrast to implants for individual teeth, a snap-on denture on implants is in many cases eligible for (partial) reimbursement from basic insurance.
The reimbursement depends on medical indication, the number of implants, and your health insurer. There is usually a statutory personal contribution.
We always discuss this with you in advance, so you will not be faced with surprises.
Want to know if an implant or snap-on denture is suitable for you?
We are happy to discuss the possibilities during a personal consultation.
Your jawbone must be strong enough. This is first assessed by the dentist.
The procedure is done under anesthesia, so you will not feel any pain. Sometimes there may be post-operative pain.
From placement to final crown, it can take 3 to 6 months, depending on healing.
Implants are stronger and last longer, but the choice depends on your situation.
Only in special cases through basic insurance. Additional insurance may reimburse part of it.
