Pediatric Dentistry

Pediatric Dentistry

For children who need preventive care or treatment for cavities, trauma, or teething problems.

What do we do?

We create a child-friendly environment and guide children in a playful way to keep their teeth healthy. This includes check-ups, sealants, and treatments for cavities.

Pediatric Dentistry

A healthy set of teeth starts at a young age.

Children are very welcome and can get acquainted with the dentist at a young age. A trusted and relaxed approach helps to experience dental visits as a matter of course.

We pay extra attention to children and young people, because in this phase of life the foundation is laid for healthy teeth later in life.

First dental visit

Children are never too young for a first visit.

We recommend taking children to the dentist from about 2 years old. The first visit is mainly intended to get used to the environment and the dentist, in a calm and positive atmosphere.

Check-ups and guidance

During the check-ups, the development of the child’s teeth is monitored.

The dentist checks the teeth and molars and gives advice on brushing and nutrition. Children’s check-ups usually take place in combination with those of the parent.

Prevention and treatment

To prevent problems, we pay a lot of attention to prevention, such as:

• Brushing instructions and nutritional advice

• Sealing molars to protect against cavities

• Fluoride advice or fluoride treatment if necessary

When treatment is needed, this is explained in a clear and child-friendly manner.

Teeth exchange

The exchange of milk teeth to permanent teeth usually starts around the fifth or sixth year of life and proceeds gradually.

The dentist follows this development and intervenes when necessary.

Braces (orthodontics)

During the growth of the teeth, it may be necessary to correct the position of teeth and molars.

Braces can help to create space, correct misalignment and promote a healthy bite.

The dentist follows the development of the child’s teeth and assesses whether and when braces are needed. If desired, you will be informed and advised in good time about possible orthodontic treatment.

Costs and reimbursement

Dental (and orthodontic) care for children up to 18 years is reimbursed from the basic insurance.
